DOHA: Minister of Environment and Climate Change HE Sheikh Dr. Faleh bin Nasser bin Ahmed bin Ali Al-Thani has issued a Ministerial Decision regulating the hunting season for certain birds and wild animals.

Decision of the Minister of Environment and Climate Change No. 15 of 2022 stipulates that the hunting season for migratory birds (dove) will be from September 1, 2022 to February 15, 2023 only, while hunting for bustards will be done only by falcons. .

The use or exchange of non-traditional hunting tools and means, in particular the “Sawayat” electronic bird caller, is prohibited.

Meanwhile, rabbit hunting season will be from December 15, 2022 to January 15, 2023 only, and it should only be hunted by hawks and hunting dogs.

The decision also stipulates that the hunting or sale of any of the birds or other wild animals, included in the list of prohibited animal species of birds, mammals and reptiles, is prohibited all year round.

Hunting of any kind is also prohibited in nature reserves and islands, and within the boundaries of towns, villages and public parks, as well as inside private properties and farms, except with permission. owners and assigns.
