Enviro groups say drilling permits harm endangered species

By Morgan Conley (June 15, 2022, 8:00 p.m. EDT) – The Biden administration wrongly issued thousands of drilling permits in New Mexico and Wyoming without considering the cumulative impacts of allowing more gas emissions greenhouse gases, environmental groups said Wednesday.

In a lawsuit seeking to revoke 3,500 drilling permits on public lands, the Center for Biological Diversity and WildEarth Guardians told a federal court in Washington they were particularly concerned about how the failure to examine the impacts cumulative additional drilling will affect endangered species.
